Fiona Apple ya tiene a punto su segundo disco 'When the pawn hits..'.

Saldrá publicado el próximo 9 de noviembre y el primer single se titula 'Fast as you can'. El trabajo contiene diez temas con títulos como 'To your love', 'Paper bag' o 'The way things are'.

El álbum ha sido producido por Jon Brion (Aimee Mann, Rufus Waiwright), y entre los músicos que han participado en la grabación destaca el teclista Jim Keltner.

Curiosamente, el nombre completo del álbum es uno de los títulos más largos de la historia de la música ya que contiene 86 palabras: 'When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king what he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight and he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring there's no body to batter when your mind is your might so when you go solo you hold your own hand and remember that depth is the greatest of heights and if you know where you stand then you know where to land and if you fall it won't matter 'cuz you'll know that you're right'.

Su primer disco 'Tidal', apareció editado en 1996. A destacar, que en 1998 participó en la banda sonora de 'Pleasantville' con una versión del tema de los Beatles 'Across the universe'.
